{"id":273,"date":"2005-07-27T14:05:55","date_gmt":"2005-07-27T19:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homemaderavioli.com\/woodstock\/weblog\/?p=273"},"modified":"2005-07-27T14:05:55","modified_gmt":"2005-07-27T19:05:55","slug":"if-this-is-how-he-treats-his-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.homemaderavioli.com\/woodstock\/weblog\/2005\/07\/if-this-is-how-he-treats-his-friends\/","title":{"rendered":"If this is how he treats his friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently Gary Trudeau has pissed off the White House again, or, at least, he&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2005\/SHOWBIZ\/books\/07\/27\/doonesbury.language.ap\/index.html?section=cnn_topstories\">pissed off some of the country&#8217;s more conservative newspaper editors<\/a> with his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doonesbury.com\/strip\/dailydose\/index.html?uc_full_date=20050727\">strip for today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To quote the CNN story:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In the strip, Bush and an aide are lamenting the problems the administration has had over allegations that Rove leaked the name of a CIA officer to reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Bush says, &#8220;Karl&#8217;s sure been earnin&#8217; his nickname lately.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The unnamed aide says, &#8220;Boy Genius? I&#8217;m not so sure sir &#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bush then says, &#8220;Hey Turd Blossom! Get in here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The term is said to be one of several nicknames Bush uses for Rove, one of his closest allies and who is widely credited for Bush&#8217;s election in 2000 and re-election in 2004.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, if Bush refers to one of his closest allies as a piece of shit, how do you think he regards the American people?<\/p>\n<p>Only 1195 days until the next election.
