Hodges<\/a><\/em>, already being called the lesbian and gay community&#8217;s Loving vs. Virginia, kicked it into the goal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/marriage-equality-celebrations-erupt-nationwide-n382766\">Parties!<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/msnbc\/marriage-equality-supporters-celebrate-victory-stonewall\">Rejoicing!<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/84bZRwMl-i0\">Singing in the streets<\/a>! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/the_slatest\/2015\/06\/26\/same_sex_marriage_photos_first_gay_couples_around_country_get_married_after.html\">Marriages!<\/a> Even the White House got its rainbow swag on.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.theplatform.com\/p\/2E2eJC\/nbcNewsOffsite?guid=f_dc_wh_color_150627\" width=\"635\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But we still have work to do.<\/p>\n<div align=\"aligncenter\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"huffpost-image-embed\" style=\"overflow: hidden;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/include\/image_embed.php?image_file=http:\/\/big.assets.huffingtonpost.com\/WorkplaceDiscrimination.png&amp;entry_url=http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/10\/30\/fired-for-being-gay_n_6076492.html&amp;width=475&amp;height=508\" width=\"475\" height=\"508\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 29 states you can still be fired for being LGBT. Of the 21 states that offer protection three of those don&#8217;t offer protection on the basis of gender identity. And those regulations only cover employment discrimination. They don&#8217;t address housing at all.<\/p>\n<p>I freely admit I wept openly when I heard the decision Friday, just as I did with the <em>Windsor<\/em> decision.
