My characters are in limbo and I can feel them standing on the edge of something big, something life changing.  Nevertheless, I made word count and completed my first National Novel Writing Month learning a lot about myself as a person and a writer in the process.<\/p>\n<p>A few statistics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number of chapters: 20 (so far)<\/li>\n<li>Number of secrets revealed: 2 (and counting)<\/li>\n<li>Total word count to date: 50,605<\/li>\n<li>Number of random historical research questions I&#8217;ve asked my mother: 30+<\/li>\n<li>50,000nth word: of (sad, but true)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The goal is to finish the rough draft, which is what this is, before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Time to get a bit of sleep now, I think, give my eyes a rest, and catch up on some TV.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not finished.
