Yes, it’s the end of the year sinus infection complete with a slight fever which means I’ve been on the couch most of the day.

I’m not sure if it’s the fever, or the antibiotics, or just the degradation of brain cells that comes with many hours of exposure to television but I’m fascinated by the Arby’s Oven Mitt. It walks, it talks, it sings, and the latest is a parody of Titantic

It makes me smile, and sometimes that’s enough.

You know, if you’re happy and you walk around with a big, dopey grin on your face most of the people you pass will smile back at you, and genuinely smile not that pinched, sarcastic "yeah, right" smile you so often see on the faces of city dwellers.

At least, this is what today’s lab experiment tells me.

…when you’re getting most of your positive reenforcement from your spam?

At work I get about 100 spam e-mails a day. Everything from View C.h.i.l.d P0rn0 N0w to the ever popular Viagra and Diet Pills prescribed online!

Today I received at least a dozen e-mails with the subject lines:
You are so great!
and
You will be happy!

Sad to say, they brightened my day if only the most miniscule amount.

Warp Drive Generator Patented!
