…that when a staff member at a doctor’s office gets sick she has to wait 10 days to make sure it isn’t a virus before she can get in to see the doctor?
A nurse friend said she usually plods through any viral* illnesses. If it’s a pressing issue, she’s connected (inasmuch as a web designer can call the IT admin to reboot the website) and can get in sooner.
*Viruses straddle the definition of “nonliving” — somewhere between bacteria (definitely living, can give you strep or make your yogurt) and prions (not living, scary as madcowpoo). You can treat the symptoms, but it otherwise has to run its course.
Well – if it’s bad enough a person can always visit the local emergency room 🙂 That’s what I did this morning. But I did it only because it was Sunday and my doctor wasn’t available anyhow.
I was thinking this yesterday, when I went to the doctor thinking I have the mumps. I don’t, or at least that is what he told me.
