6 degrees of iPod

Does anyone besides me find it a little freaky that the same guy who, in 1976, produced AC/DC’s Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap went on to produce, in 2000, Britney Spears’ oops!…I did it again?

Robert John “Mutt” Lange…go figure

Nah..not freaky. Money is money. Is this the same “Mutt” that is married to that country music person?

Seems to be the standard “I do it FOR THE MUSIC” to “I’m months behind on my payments for the Bently and need fast cash” artistic curve.

Didn’t the folks who brought us the Spice Girls have a prior successful pop-gig?

    Mutt Lange:

    1. Canadian rocker-turned-blowhard Bryan Adams’ long-time writing/producing partner
    2. Shania Twain’s husband and the inspiration for her hit record, “You’re the One”

Simon Fuller, former svengali to the Spice Girls:

    1. Launched Annie Lennox’s solo career
    2. Discovered – and still collaborates regularly with – singer.songwriter Cathy Dennis, who wrote the theme tune to…
    3. Pop Idol, which Fuller created
    4. And is owned by 19 Management, which is Fuller’s company
    5. And spawned a worldwide Empire (capital letter intentional, to convey similarity to that other Empire, the one from the space movies)

Simon Fuller is the most powerful man in popular music right now. Fact.
