What does gas cost again?

<rant>

I am deathly sick of the sound of running truck engines.

Yes, we had a storm over the weekend. Yes, we had another one Wednesday night. Does that mean you have to sit in your truck with the engine running for an hour while the crew chainsaws the tree?

    I couldn’t agree with you more.

    What stupidity.

    What arrogance.

    Oh right, I’m in the US of A.

    TURN ‘EM OFF!

    $2.599/gallon for regular is about average here, $2.799 for “premium.” (Austin was $2.199 for regular.) I keep waiting for the “3” signs to pop up.

    People are getting upset because there’s an additional $0.03 per gallon tax kicking in to fund roads and stuff.

    My heart, she bleeds. It’s $6.02466 per US gallon here in the UK. And, given that the exchange rate has improved markedly recently, it was more like $6.30 earlier this year.

    When I bought my gallon of gas for the chainsaw over the weekend (more on that later) it was $2.39 9/10, which is lower than it was before memorial day but not by much.

    The point is that even though it’s not *that* expensive, it’s too expensive to waste. After all, city truck means that it’s my tax money in that tank.
