As an adult I’ve never taken a two week vacation. Some of that has been finances, some of it has been the stingy nature of American employers’ vacation policies.
Whatever the case, the first part of the Hawaii vacation trip photos are available in the photoblog. There are a lot of photos, but Maui is worth it. The thing these photos don’t capture is how delicious Maui smells. With the exception of hot, still early evening in Lahaina, the entire island, it seems, smells like flowers, particularly the oleander that seems to be planted everywhere.
I’m hoping to get the second part, our week on Oahu, finished before the box we had to send home parcel post gets here. Even with the box’s five-week head start, it might be a near thing.
