You should vote: Green
The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against.
Take the test at Who Should You Vote For
What really scares me is that if anyone ever programmed such a thing for an upcoming U.S. election, some yahoos would probably use it to decide their votes.
It’s a rather poorly laid out quiz because selection bubbles wrap, leading one to “disagree” more than not.
Another danger in any of these, going back to my Samantha Bee comment, is how the quiz is worded. For example, this is one of those oft-forwarded email things comparing three political candidates:
Candidate A: associates with ward heelers and consults with astrologists. He’s had two mistresses. He chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.
Candidate B: was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of brandy every evening.
Candidate C: is a decorated war hero. He’s a vegetarian, doesn’t smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn’t had any illicit affairs.
Note how well candidate C is portrayed. It omits his semi-vegetarianism, belief in eugenics, and demonstrated urges to purge the world of those who aren’t like his ideal.
(The candidates are Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler, respectively.)
